Connections/Expertise w/ El Sistema-inspired programs
I am currently the director of YOSA MÁS–Youth Orchestras of San Antonio Music After School. This is San Antonio’s El Sistema inspired music education program operating and serving students on San Antonio’s westside.

Special skills/professional expertise/resources/connections that the candidate would bring to the board
What I have found, in my brief time with this board, is that I am willing to work hard to get done that which needs to be completed in order for this organization to more forward. I have sharpened my writing skills in writing content for the new website and I have learned a great deal about how boards work in my time serving on the executive committee as clerk. I would like to continue to work to ensure that this organization is vital to the Sistema community.

Why the candidate wishes to serve on the board
I would like to continue working with the board of directors for the National Alliance because I feel deeply that this organization can become vital to sustaining the Sistema movement here in the U.S. I want to continue to help in whatever way that I can and to be a part of an exciting time in the history of this movement and the work that we do with children and music and social change.
